HISTORY OF THE CLUB

The young journalists club was founded in 2014 by Brother Robat Mchoki.

Formed of 10 members, the group rose famamously by the name of media club and under the supervision of a leader known as Alex Six who was able to lead the group until 2017, when he  graduated from high school and so the band members were able to choose another leader known as Omary Rashid, who  fulfilled his role of leadership for about two years and he was able to do a lot under the good management of Brother Gabriel Junior with whom he officially started working in the media in 2018.

After the departure of Brother Gabriel Junior, there were various challenges which exceeded the capacity of the group members but under new supervision from Brother Gabriel and Brother Deus the group was able to do a lot of things that became very beneficial for the school, especially for the students.

The work that grew to be done by this group included the daily preparation of the Saturday news, the recording of various events at Don Bosco Didia Secondary School and also the ability to brief students on various events here in Tanzania. .

The group was able to perform in 2019 but after a year the group seemed to be gone and even completely dead.

With all these events, the club which seemed to be forgotten after the departure of Brother Gabriel who assisted the members of the media group and also after the departure of the leader Omary Rashidi.

In 2019 in the eighth month the group disappeared completely, but some members of the group did not want to see the group non-existent within the school.

To respond positively to this lack, Godfrey Pius was one of the group's relaunchers after having shared his wish with the head teacher of the school by the name of FR. Joachim Sivali who also seemed interested in the idea, so Media club has reappeared but, under the name of Don Bosco Didia Young Journalist Club.

Godfrey was able to share the idea with some students of whom later became a member of the group, and this is where Godefrey was able to find new members of the group, including Baraka Clement, Mohamed Sungura, Oscar Anthony, Said Kajiru, Fadhil Abdul and Derick Fisso ...

These are the people who were able to restart the group and officially give it the name of the club of young journalists, then on 12/05/2020, they decided to officially launch a television channel called YJ TV, a channel that was able to make its work under the direction of Father Joachim Sivali and Brother Mwenda, then many students became interested in the group and were able to join it.
